The good humor man he sees everything like this

I know I'm straying from the theme of this blog, but I can't let the death of Arthur Lee go unremarked. He was an extraordinary talent and, since the sixties, an influence on every songwriter who was any good whatsoever. I was fortunate enough to see him live a few years back and, despite everything he'd been through, he was still on incredible form.

RIP.

He was, indeed, incredible live. I had to show the Guardian obit to a barman on Saturday who commented on my friend's Love t-shirt and couldn't believe he was gone.

Sometimes instead of Arthur Lee I much prefer some Arthur Lowe.

foxinthesnow: You were carrying Arthur Lee's obit around with you in a bar? That's devotion! But in all seriousness it's sad to lose the driving force behind one of my favourite albums. RIP.
